The advertising Katyana grew up watching in the 1990s in NZ had a profound impact on the work she aspires to create today.  Like those spots, Katyana strives to deliver ideas to the world that stay with people for years to come. She believes advertising can make people feel seen, make them look at something differently, and essentially change the world around.

In my 24years in the communications industry – no young creative has shone as brightly as Kat. Her maturity and talent within the conceptual world is wonderfully intimidating. Her humble and calm demeanour betrays her brimming genius. In a world sadly lacking in female creatives – I’m very bloody excited to have someone that can realise our brand’s potential with women across the world and deliver our message with intelligence, wit, multi-dimensional messaging, and stunning craft. This rapidly rising star deserves recognition on a grander scale for her ability to deliver ideas to the world in a startlingly original, honest, modern and inspiring way. She’s going to make Australia proud on a grand scale.

Zoe Hayes; Snr Marketing Manager, Berlei Australia

Since joining The Monkeys, Kat has worked on some of our most provocative campaigns. She’s an immensely talented creative thinker with a strong strategic point on every project that we have worked on together. She pushes through the many challenges that come with creating unique work and now has a portfolio of projects that most creative folks would be proud of. Work like “Womankind” for Berlei, which not only had a huge impact for the brand but kick-started a much needed conversation about censorship, is just one example. Kat’s definitely a talent to watch.

George (Paul Catmur’s Staffordshire Bull Terrier) could write better than this.
Paul Catmur; CCO, BC&F

Kat has that mysterious x factor that creative directors look for, that doesn’t always come with the job. Like being able to seek out timely opportunities to elevate the work. Having incredible instincts, which is rarer than it might sound. And having a sense of maturity beyond her years in her approach to creativity. I’m genuinely excited about the future of our industry, knowing Kat will be one of the people leading it.
